The PreMaster Program is aimed at students who are about to or have recently completed a bachelor’s degree and intend to study further toward a master’s degree.
The PreMaster Program consists of two phases – practical work in our company followed by study toward a master’s degree. The practical phase can last up to twelve months but may be much shorter. We don’t recommend, however, that you spend less than six months working. The duration and starting date are determined on an individual basis. The subsequent master’s degree usually takes two years (four semesters) to complete. All in all, the PreMaster Program is designed to extend over a maximum of three years.
The program is divided into two stages: first you will be assigned to a department at Bosch where you will gain experience in handling day-to-day business and project-related duties. Plus, you will have the opportunity to get to know one or two related departments (depending on the duration of the working stage). If desired, specialist seminars can be arranged. On completing this stage, you will start studying toward your master’s degree. In addition to the opportunities we offer students in Germany and abroad, you will be advised and assisted by a personal mentor before and during your master’s studies.
The PreMaster Program is aimed at students with a bachelor’s degree in technical or business subjects. The focus is on natural and engineering sciences in particular.
You must have earned a bachelor’s degree either in business studies or computer, engineering or natural science with above-average results. It is also essential that you firmly intend to obtain a master’s degree, have a good knowledge of English and are active outside the university. Previous practical experience is not necessary.
While working at Bosch, you will receive appropriate compensation that corresponds to your professional profile. Practical work (e.g. internships, employment as a working student) undertaken during your master’s studies will be remunerated according to our standard rates. Furthermore, you may also apply for a student loan from us.
No, the PreMaster Program is targeted exclusively at graduates with bachelor’s degrees whose demanding study programs allow little time for practical experience.
You are responsible for applying to do a master’s degree and registering at a suitable university. The location of the university and master’s degree are at your discretion and need not be finalized at the start of the practical phase. Your mentor from your specialist department will be happy to offer guidance and personalized advice. You must have started the master’s degree course within two months of completing the practical phase. If you are not accepted for a master’s degree, the PreMaster Program will be terminated.
You are under no obligation to work for Bosch after completing the PreMaster Program. Naturally, we would be delighted to have you on board after completing your master’s degree. There’s a choice of several options: you can continue in the department where you did your PreMaster Progam or move to another one. Joining our specialists, executives or PhD programs are other avenues open to you.
Following graduation with a basic professional qualification, our PreMaster Program combines interesting and far-reaching practical experience with subsequent study toward a master’s degree. In this way, it aims to provide participants with a further qualification and optimal career start.
There are no application deadlines for the PreMaster Program. Openings are filled as needed throughout the year.

Our PreMaster Program is also conducted at some locations outside Germany. Openings are advertised on our international job market.
Yes, we’re happy to welcome applicants from around the world. You should have a strong grasp of the German language and intend to do your master’s at a Austrian university.
Please use our online application form, which you will find with every PreMaster Program advertisement. All your documents can be included as file attachments (covering letter, resume, references, etc.).
After a preliminary selection based on the written applications, candidates will be invited to an interview with an HR partner and the supervisor of the relevant specialist department. As part of the interview process, the candidate frequently also has the opportunity to meet a few coworkers and form an impression of the working environment.

We advertise all openings on our job market. This is why we ask that you respond directly to an actual advertisement. If you are unable to find a suitable position, you can assume that there are currently no openings in the area you are interested in. But that can change from one day to the next. Use our job agent function to receive updates on the latest new vacancies.
You are welcome to make your application accessible via our global applicant pool. That means our recruiters can view the applicant profile that you have created and contact you regarding suitable positions. The more detailed your profile, the better your chances of being contacted with an offer.
Double-check that you have not forgotten any documents. These include a compelling covering letter, a comprehensive resume in tabular form and references (e.g. from your school, university, or internships). Graduates from EU universities must also include their Transcript of Records, ECTS credits and diploma supplement. Evidence of any work experience should also be included.
Take some time to consider what your abilities are, what you expect from the program, what your goals are, and why you would be a good fit for the position. Also note questions that you would like to ask during the interview.
When we invite you to an interview, you have already cleared the first hurdle. We liked your profile and would like to get to know you better. Be sincere and don’t try to be something you are not. This is also your chance to find out whether you would feel at home in the position and at Bosch. That’s our aim, too.
